Library Policies:
Checking Out Books:
Kindergarten-1 book (will go home and be returned at end of the week).
1st and 2nd grade-2 books (one goes home/one stays at school in desk then swap). Books are due next Library Day.
3rd, 4th, and 5th grade-3 books (one book at a time at home please/keep others at school until needed to swap). Books are due next Library Day; HOWEVER, the books can be renewed if the student brings with them to class since they have chapter books.
Late Fines: there aren't any fines for the elementary level.
Lost/Damaged Book: Cost of book to replace. A bill will be sent home and cash or check to pay for replacement.
Schedule: 6 day color rotation-plus a weekend (8 days total for books).
What to Read: We encourage the students to find something they will love! Try different authors and genres and find a "just right" book for their reading level. Strive to read 20 minutes a day.
ROCKETS UP for Related Arts
Behavior Plan for each special area class to encourage good behavior and teamwork for their color rocket. There will a reward during related arts at the end of October and mid December for the winning team.
