Rockvale High School’s Beta Club hosted its annual Track or Treat, giving the community a chance to have fun and give back in the process.
Led by sponsors Steve Boynton, Amber Emery and Carrie Purvis, the Beta Club boasts nearly 200 members.
“We have 180 club members and complete numerous service projects throughout the year, but this project is definitely the largest,” Emery said of Track or Treat, which was held Oct. 24.
The track at Homer Brown Field was packed with 59 booths providing candy and other treats to children in the community.
“Beta (had) 13 booths, and the other booths (were) a combination of Rockvale community members, Rockvale High clubs and sports teams, Rockvale Middle clubs and sports, and Rockvale Elementary teachers,” Emery said. “It's all Rockvale that helps to make it happen.”
In addition to organizing the event, club members held a canned good drive at the school level. School Resource Officers also collected items at the entry gate, with a total of 2,099 cans collected, Emery said.
