Rockets Read
Rockvale will be embarking on a community-wide book club called
Rockets Read.
Every family will receive a copy of the same book- The Toys Go Out- and will be asked to read it together at home over the next few weeks. We are asking parents to make the time so that every family can participate in this special activity. Be sure to check out the live links on this page.
Rockets Read
WHAT?
Rockets Read is designed to create a shared reading experience within an elementary school community. A chapter book is chosen, every family in the elementary school receives a copy, and every family reads that book at home over the course of a month. Activities at school coordinate, promote, and enrich the shared reading experience.
WHY?
To create a culture of literacy in every home. Research shows that reading aloud to children will help them to become better readers,
WHO?
The entire school community is participating.
WHEN?
Be on the lookout! Your child will bring their book home after a special reveal assembly at school.
