General Information
Folders: Your child will have a Red folder (Assigned by teacher) and an agenda in his/her backpack. The folder and agenda will be used to communicate behavior, homework and class activities. Please look at your child’s folder each night. Located in the folder will be a page for us to communicate about behaviors. Please initial if I send communication about your child’s behavior. No communication means that things are going well. Make sure you check for any homework assignments in the folder. Remove all graded papers daily so they don’t clutter the folder. Newsletters will be sent home in the folder no later than Monday.
Money: Please send all money in an envelope with the student’s name, teacher’s name, amount and what the money if for written on the check.
Absences: If your child is absent, please send a note the day he/she returns stating the reason for the absence. Send notes to school in the left-hand pocket of your student’s folder. Please send a message on Dojo letting me know that it is in the folder.
Transportation: If there are any changes for afternoon dismissal, send a note or call the office.
Clothing: Please label all coats, bags, etc. with the student’s name. Tennis shoes should be worn on gym days.
Info updates: Please make me aware of any changes, so that student records can be updated. This can be done by sending a note.
Homework: For only a few minutes a day, follow the routine below to help improve students’ phonics skills and prepare for spelling Tests. The focus is to help students understand and apply the rule, which will be provided every week
*Students may also receive math and special projects at times for H.W., but it will be specific.
*Other possible H.W. could also include unfinished work. You will be notified if this is the case.
*Reading for 20 minutes a day will also help improve students reading skills.
Mon/Tues- Read Fluency sheet & Warp Speed Words, write spelling words on one of these days.
Wednesday- Read fluency sheet, answer comprehension questions, practice Warp Speed Words.
Thursday- Study Spelling Words.
Friday-Spelling Test
Backpack: Please make sure that your child brings his/her backpack, agenda, and folder each day.
Snacks: Please send a snack for your child each day. Please, NO candy. Water bottles are allowed WITH spill-proof lids. No flavored drinks, soda, or juice.
Lunch: Lunch and breakfast prices are listed below.
Breakfast- $2.00 per day
Lunch- $3.25 per day
Guest Lunch- $4.25*Students may bring money for extras
